Hi everyone
I have 2 sites that are dormant that I am trying to propagate with writers and book reviewers. They have forums attached as well. They are free...so the only thing I need now is people to start to network there and show some artistic impression with words...
I look forward to seeing you there.

New Group for Bay Area Writers forming....

Hey all,
I am once again forming a writing group for Bay Area writers of Speculative Fiction---Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, that sort of stuff. Hopefully we will find a day that we will be able to meet, critique each other, and so on. For now, however, I have created a message board to start getting people rounded up and to bounce around some ideas of what people might be interested in, and when and where we might be able to meet, depending on who's located where.
Anyone that might be interested, you are more than welcome to come on by and share your thoughts or ideas.
Thanks,
Chris
we are located at:

Writing Workshop Group

I would like to meet with some other SF writers on a regular basis (every other week or once a month) to edit their work/give feedback and have my own writing edited/receive feedback. I'm writing my first novel, and I also write poetry. Anyone interested? This would be an in-person kind of thing, not online. :-)

Is this tribe still active? I would like to start (or join) a science fiction writer's work group, preferable in San Francisco (SFSF?). If anyone is interested, please contact me.

Hi everyone,

I am currently involved in 2 writers groups in the North Bay - one is mixed genre - one is speculative fiction. Both meet in real life. SF is a long drive for me but if anyone is in the north bay they are welcome to contact me.

The Chopping Block Reading Series at Borderlands Books

I'm new to the tribe and was excited by the fact that this tribe exists. I look forward to participating.

I'm also trying to set up a reading series for new writers of spec fic to take place at Borderlands. I think we pretty much all know where that is, but just in case you don't, it is located on Valencia between 19th and 20th in SF. Alan and Jude have agreed to the concept of the reading series and have set aside a time for the reading to occur Friday, once a month, after normal operating hours.

We're trying to set this thing up for the same reasons, I presume, that this tribe exists: to create opportunities to meet each other, talk to each other, share our work and generally start the process of creating a writer' community here in SF.

We're calling it The Chopping Block Reading Series. Not sure why, but it just sounded cool. There is a tribe, quite fresh, that we've started to get things going. We need your help, all of you if possible. Alan and Jude, the owners and operators of Borderlands would like the series to be self-functioning. We need to attract writers and listeners, but right now, mostly writers. If you would like to read, or listen, or participate in any way, join the tribe and we'll see if we can get this thing going.

Check out choppingblock.tribe.net or search the tribe for The Chopping Block. You could also click on my link and it will show up among my tribes. Thanks folks. Hope to hear from you soon.
